Voice, Presence & Artistry

A one-day intensive for emerging artists.

Voice, Presence & Artistry is a one-day intensive for emerging artists who are ready to strengthen their voice, develop their performance skills & explore their artistry.

Voice, Presence & Artistry supports emerging contemporary vocal artists by providing the practical skills, artistic insight and professional confidence to help build sustainable careers in today's music industry.

Led by Jennifer John, the intensive is a practical approach to vocal artistic development & encourages peer learning.

Jennifer's approach is founded on the belief that the mind and body are inextricably linked. Our internal dialogue and mindset have a direct impact on our confidence, physical presence and vocal performance, both on stage and in the recording studio. By developing these together, artists build greater confidence, clarity and connection in performance.

With a maximum of eight people per session, participants work consistently on singing exercises, physical awareness and audience connection.

The sessions focus on how the voice functions technically in practice, developing breath control, stamina and vocal flexibility alongside song interpretation and delivery. As understanding deepens around how the body responds in performance, clarity grows around what an audience sees and experiences.

Breathing and breath control sit at the centre of the work, supporting vocal technique, focus, confidence and artistic control. As awareness develops, so does the ability to perform with greater consistency and intention.

Jennifer’s approach

I've had the privilege of working alongside Jennifer John across some of the most important talent development programmes I've been involved in, from the LIMF Academy to the BRITs Fringe, as well as individual artist projects and performances. Every single time, she delivers something genuinely special.

What sets Jennifer apart isn't just her technical knowledge, though that's exceptional. It's the way she meets artists exactly where they are. She has a rare ability to see where they are, what they need and what they're capable of, often before they can see it themselves. She creates the space, the trust and the practical tools that enable artists to grow with confidence and clarity.

Jennifer brings warmth, rigour and real creative intelligence to everything she does.
